Lookout Housing and Health Society Part Time - Temporary until Incumbent Return We provide housing and a range of support services to adults with low or no income who have few, if any, housing or support options. Friday through Saturday | Shift times will be 0700 - 1500 Hours Sunday through Monday | Shift times will be 1500 - 2300 Hours Shifts are 7.5 hours in length The Clinical Support Worker (CSW) reports to Site Manager and works in accordance with the mission and philosophy of Lookout Housing and Health Society including following Lookout’s Code of Ethics. The CSW works with residents to provide assistance, support, education and skill training.
Will work with resident to maintain and develop greater independence and stability with the goal of a healthier and more independent living arrangement. This position requires successful completion of respirator fit testing, as Lookout is COR (Certificate of Recognition) certified and must comply with WorkSafeBC health and safety requirements. To ensure a proper respirator seal during fit testing and use, employees are required to be clean-shaven where the respirator seals against the face.
Will participate in resident intake and provide support services and assessment Will identify challenges for resident and develop service plans, crisis intervention, administer finances and medication Ensure that basic needs are met by working closely with the individual on a long-term, ongoing basis Complete required paper work and maintain statistical and evaluative data Assist with volunteers and practicum students on site Use of an automobile may at times be useful Case planning Sleeping during shifts is not permitted Responsible for complying with and contributing to all aspects of health and safety program Related Diploma or Certificate or minimum Grade 12 education, plus two (2) year of recent related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience Familiarity with community resources, particularly addiction, mental health and harm reduction. Must have current OFA 1 First Aid Certificate Crisis Intervention Skills Training an asset Class 4 driver's License an asset Excellent communication, writing and documentation and organizational skills. Ability to work with disadvantaged and challenging adults in a diverse setting Criminal Record Clearance – vulnerable sector
