University

Degree or Diploma in Human Services/ HR/Social Sciences and/or Business Must have class 07 automobile insurance coverage business use (or pleasure with occasional business use) and a minimum of $2,000,000 in liability coverage Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Knowledge of employment, education, and training strategies, local labour market information and community resources Exceptional customer service attitude and skills Reporting to the Employment Centre Manager, the Career and Employment Advisor will assist individuals in providing comprehensive and individualized services that enable job seekers to acquire workplace and occupational skills allowing them to re-enter the workforce as quickly as possible.





Customer Service

Assist participants with resume development, job search strategies, interview skills, training opportunities, career planning, employability skills and labour market information Negotiate job placements and work experience opportunities for clients with employers in Medicine Hat Respond to phone calls/emails within 24 business hours Greet customers/program participants professionally and courteously Achieve all quality standards and targets established under YMCA best practices and the YMCA’s Standards that Shine General cleaning as required around the facility Ensure any conflict in the workplace is resolved promptly, in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures Quality of Work Initiate, develop and maintain employer contacts by marketing our programs – the position will entail initiating and meeting with local businesses/employers to promote our clients and available services Negotiate job placements and work experience opportunities for clients with employers Provide ongoing coaching on a one‑on‑one basis for individuals connecting to the workforce Conduct a thorough assessment to help clients identify their interests, skills, and abilities, and relate them to the workforce Conduct data entry into the Mobius tracking system Compliance with Legislation and YMCA Policies and Procedure Ensure all YMCA policies/procedures and applicable legislation is followed Office located on the main floor. Sitting at a desk and using a computer for most of the day 2 weeks paid vacation after 3 months prorated based on start date ~
