Want to build your skills and work toward a career in carpentry? Lawford Construction is hiring carpenter’s helpers to support our framing crews on multi-storey apartment and condominium projects. Come join a rapid growing framing company with a lot of opportunity for advancement.
You’ll work alongside experienced framers, help keep projects moving, and learn through hands-on work. We’re looking for dependable people who are ready to work, follow instructions, and take safety seriously.
What you’ll do
- Assist carpenters with framing walls, floors, roofs, and installing prefabricated wall panels.
- Move, sort, and organize lumber, tools, and building materials.
- Measure and cut materials as directed.
- Assist with installing sheathing, blocking, and other framing components as your skills develop.
- Use hand and power tools under appropriate instruction and supervision.
- Keep work areas clean and access routes clear.
- Follow site safety procedures and ask questions when instructions are unclear.

- Ability to perform physical construction work, including lifting and carrying materials.
- Willingness to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
- Ability to work safely at heights with required training and protection.
- Reliable transportation to assigned job sites.
- Require personal tools and safety gear
Previous construction experience is an asset, but extensive framing experience is not required. Tell us about any experience using tools, doing physical work, or working on construction sites.

Job sites: Winnipeg and surrounding areas. Some travel may be required.
Overtime: May be required from time to time to meet project deadlines, with advance notice provided whenever possible.
