Caseworker Community Outreach Permanent, Full-time Hourly Pay: [$21.95 to $23.72] We're a well-established non-profit provincial organization that provides effective, just, and humane services in response to the causes and consequences of crime, and assists individuals who are at risk or are involved in the criminal justice process.
The John Howard
Society of Saskatchewan provides prevention, intervention, support services, and advocacy for individuals who are at risk or are involved in the criminal justice process. Communities have effective, just, humane practices that support positive social outcomes ___________________________________ Under the supervision of the Program Manager, or designate, the Caseworker will assist in case management, service delivery, supervision of participants. Caseworker duties include the following responsibilities: Deliver client-oriented programming with a focus on life skill building, emotional regulation and general wellness.
Provide intensive case management using a client centred approach that is risk reductive and supportive at the client level Connect participants to community supports. Role model positive behaviour and encourage and assist participants to practice self-help and non-violent problem-solving skills. Knowledge, Skills and Assets: Understanding and commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action.
Exceptional writing and case management skills. Resourceful, flexible,
and well organized. Secondary education from Saskatchewan Polytechnic or Community Colleges or University Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or minimum 1 year of practical experience working with individuals impacted by socio-economic issues including homelessness, trauma, addiction, mental health, poverty, and the child welfare Working knowledge and experience with individuals impacted by socio-economic issues, including: homelessness, trauma, addiction, mental health, poverty, and the child welfare system.
Working with a range of diverse clients, indiscriminate of: age, gender, sexual orientation, abilities, socio-economic status, religious preference, etc.
First
Aid, ASIST, Non-violent Crisis Intervention, Food Protected would be considered an asset.
Cleared Criminal
Record and Vulnerable Sector Check, completed three (3) months prior to start date. Computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) Requires flexibility and should be able to work varying shifts JHSS requires a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check for all eligible employees, though the presence of a criminal record will not alone preclude employment and will be investigated to determine the circumstances and the relevance of the convictions for the position being considered in accordance with any applicable legislation. #
