Hexagon’s Autonomous Solutions division is looking for a Chief Engineer, Positioning Solutions to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Vice President, NovAtel Positioning Engineering, this role will provide senior technical leadership for NovAtel’s commercial positioning product portfolio, driving architecture, technical strategy, innovation, and successful product execution across hardware, software, firmware, and product development teams.

Responsibilities

As Chief Engineer, Positioning Solutions you will be responsible for these activities:

- Develop and own the technical roadmap vision and architectural direction of NovAtel's positioning solutions portfolio that meets the needs of the business.
- Guide engineering teams through the complete product lifecycle, from concept through deployment and sustainment.
- Ensure technical alignment across product lines, platforms, and future roadmaps.
- Lead critical technical decision-making and trade-off analysis.
- Partner with Product Management to translate customer and market requirements into technical strategies and development plans.
- Drive innovation while maintaining effective execution of roadmaps and schedule commitments.
- Ensure scalability, maintainability, performance, and reliability of positioning solutions that exceed the expectations of our customers.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, accountability, and collaboration.

Qualifications

Must Have:





- Experience in a senior technical leadership role with direct influence across a large organization.
- At least 15+ years of combined engineering experience, including 10+ years of progressive leadership experience managing and/or influencing multiple engineering disciplines.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to make informed decisions and effectively manage technical and business risks.
- Proven experience developing technical product roadmaps and architectural strategies for complex technology products.
- Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change, optimize processes, and drive measurable business outcomes.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 10% of the time.

Nice To Have:

- Experience with GNSS, INS, sensor fusion, resilient positioning, and related navigation technologies.
- Experience working with global engineering organizations developing integrated hardware, firmware, and software solutions.
