General is a member of the North York Toronto Health Partners, an Ontario Health Team that integrates local care with patients, primary care and community partners. Child & Youth Counsellor, Eating Disorder Day Program You will provide direct care to patients and families recovering from an eating disorder. The CYC in the day program works with the patient and family to support health, wellness and recovery.
You will develop and implement a plan of care in collaboration with the child/family and other health care team members. This position supports the Hospital's academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation.
This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for staff, physicians, volunteers, learners, patients and families.
Provide direct care to patients and families attending the Eating Disorder Day Program Develop and implement a plan of care in collaboration with the child/family and other health care team members; As part of the interdisciplinary team, participate in the comprehensive assessment of the adolescent with a focus on psychosocial issues, strengths, and functioning in the context of the family and milieu Collaborate to develop individualized and comprehensive plan of care to achieve mutually agreed upon goals Participate in quality improvement activities as required Engage in evidence based practice and may initiate changes to improve the quality of CYC interventions as appropriate Participate in unit/program/Hospital committees as required Certified Child & Youth Counsellor Diploma from a recognized community college Baccalaureate degree in related field, preferred Broad experience in an acute psychiatric setting, preferred Bilingualism in French/English an asset Working at NYGH means working with a dynamic team of fellow healthcare providers, staff, and volunteers in one of Canada's leading hospitals. This is a Full Time Regular position with 8 hour shifts, Day shifts in the Child Mental Health Department, Eating Disorders at Phillips House (10 Buchan Court) .
