POSITION SUMMARY

Operate equipment in County trucking fleet requiring AZ license. Perform inspections and maintain applicable records. Maintenance and clean-up of equipment.

Shift:Tuesday to Friday - 6:30am to 5:00pm, 10 hour days

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (not listed in order of priority)

1. Operate roll-off truck with pup trailer.

- Operate tractor and walking floor or dump trailer.
- Complete vehicle inspections, completion of required forms and logs.
- Maintenance and clean-up of equipment.
- Ability to be assigned to locations based on operational requirements.
- Collect materials from selected locations as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned, including redeployment in emergency situations.
- Comply with provincial and County occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

EDUCATION, TECHNICAL SKILLS AND CERTIFICATION





- Must have a valid AZ drivers licence with a clean driving record.
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Must provide own transportation to and from site(s).
- Must be able to deal with public and customers in a courteous manner.
- Knowledge of or experience in waste management would be an asset.
- Criminal records check that is less than 6 months old at time of hire.

EXPERIENCE

- One year recent and related experience with DZ trucks with AZ operation preferred.
- Experience with electronic routing equipment would be considered an asset.

EFFORT

- Walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing , carrying, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 80 lbs of weight.
- Mental and visual concentration when operating equipment/driving.

WORKING CONDITIONS

- Must wear the required PPE year round.
- Work is performed at waste management facilities
- Exposure to the elements is expected on a daily basis.
- Exposure to grease, oil, dust, dirt, noise, and foul odours on a regular basis.

Salary Grade

$33.23 - $34.33
