In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, this position provides pharmacy services to patients in Northern Health. Monitors drug prescribing, drug distribution and drug therapy to ensure safe, effective, rational, legal, and economic use of drugs.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days, 08:00 to 16:00 Prince Rupert Regional Hospital is a 30-bed facility that sees an average of 22,000 ER visits per year. It is a fully equipped facility with Medical Imaging, Laboratory, ICU, ER and Maternity. Emergency department is a marine-based port city with one-of-a-kind wilderness exploration and wildlife viewing experiences on northwest BC's Pacific Coast.
Located 721 km (447 miles) west of Prince George on Highway 16, Prince Rupert is the land, air, and water transportation hub of British Columbia's North Coast, and home to 13,500 people. The area is perfect for exploring and discovering the fascinating history and customs of local First Nations people.

Demonstrated ability to complete initial and ongoing patient assessments (clinical and diagnostic reasoning) through appropriate/prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety type interventions. Integrates best practice and current research evidence to support professional practice decisions and actions. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, the public, medical staff and members of the interdisciplinary team using verbal, written, computer communication means.
Demonstrated ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) to problem-solve and make decisions effectively.
Human Caring and Relationship Centered Practice: Ability to promote patient-centred care that demonstrates care for and with patients and families, sensitivity to diverse cultures and preferences, patient advocacy and social justice concerns.
Demonstrates creative planning for change and innovation, implementation of NH policies or other protocols, and ongoing professional development of self and others. Demonstrated computer skills including the use of Cerner and Windows based programs.
Demonstrated data analysis skills including appropriate data analysis and reporting tools.
