Job Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC Horizontal Boring Mills to machine large and complex components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T;, and machining specifications.
- Set up workpieces, fixtures, tooling, and cutting parameters according to job requirements.
- Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and adjustments to maintain accuracy.
- Machine parts to required dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes.
- Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
- Inspect finished components and make necessary machining adjustments.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and setup issues.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area organized.
- Follow all company quality and workplace safety procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of CNC machining experience, preferably operating Horizontal Boring Mills.
- Solid experience with large-part or precision machining is preferred.
- Ability to independently set up and operate CNC machinery.
- Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, and machining processes.
- Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.;
- Experience using precision measuring and inspection tools.
- CNC programming or program-editing experience is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within tight tolerances.
- Must have CSA-approved safety boots.
