Community Health

Nurse - Neskonlith Contract: Term – until August 2028 (Maternity Leave coverage) Hours: Part-time 0.5 FTE - 18.75 hrs/wk., e.g. 8am-4pm Mon-Fri (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri) Bargaining Unit: PIPSC BCFNHA Group (Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada) As the Community Health Nurse you will be providing a comprehensive range of core nursing functions and services in remote First Nations communities in program areas of community and public heath and primary care. This includes health promotion and disease and injury prevention for individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized university or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.





Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Requires a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License Minimum one (1) year of recent point-of-care nursing experience in a related or relevant field Knowledge and the application of concepts, principles, and theories of trans-cultural nursing, including knowledge of traditional, homeopathic or other healing practices used in the community. Knowledge of First Nations cultures and backgrounds, and the understanding of how culture impacts on communication patterns, and attitudes and approaches to health issues.

The Pay

Range is the minimum (Step 1) and maximum (highest Step) annual base salary based on full time equivalent hours.
