University's School of Medicine, we envision a medical education system where students and residents learn as part of a team in primary care and other community-level settings, in patient-centred environments, and with a curriculum that considers social, environmental and prevention contexts. As we establish the school in Surrey, B.our growing relationships with the local community, Fraser Health Authority, First Nations Health Authority, physicians and Indigenous partners will help us to meet the diverse health needs of the communities we serve and improve access to primary care throughout the province. We seek to advance reconciliation by embedding and equalizing Indigenous knowledge systems in our learning, research and practices while resting on a solid foundation of high-quality, accredited education and world-class research efforts that keep us oriented towards measurable socially accountable outcomes.

The Community

Liaison advances the School of Medicine's strategic goals by building and maintaining strong partnerships with physicians, Divisions of Family Practice, health authorities, and community organizations across the Fraser region.



The role supports high-quality clinical learning by ensuring community learning sites are coordinated, operationally ready, and aligned with curricular and accreditation requirements. Through managing agreements, readiness assessments, site onboarding, and ongoing partner communication, the Community Liaison helps expand placement capacity, strengthen physician engagement, and improve learner experiences across diverse clinical settings.

The role also supports the school's commitments to Truth and Reconciliation by embedding culturally safe and inclusive practices into partnership activities and clinical site processes. Upcoming work includes onboarding and supporting new clinical learning sites, implementing standardized readiness and quality guidelines, strengthening preceptor recruitment and retention strategies, improving CRM reporting and partnership metrics, and supporting cross-functional initiatives that enhance clinical training delivery and community collaboration. They excel in project management, coordinating multiple stakeholders, timelines, and operational priorities across diverse clinical sites.

They apply policies and accreditation standards consistently, solve problems diplomatically, and use data to drive improvements.



Proficiency with CRM tools and reporting is essential. A successful candidate demonstrates cultural humility and a commitment to Truth and Reconciliation, fostering inclusive, culturally safe practices for Indigenous learners and communities.

Healthcare & Clinical Education Knowledge – Understanding of healthcare systems, clinical training, and accreditation requirements.

Project

Management – Skilled in coordinating timelines, resources, and site onboarding across multiple locations.

Relationship

Building – Strong communication to engage physicians, health authorities, and community partners. Data-Driven Insights – Track metrics, evaluate programs, and inform continuous improvement.

Competence – Committed to Truth and Reconciliation and culturally secure practices for Indigenous learners and communities.
