We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist (Buyer) to join our team and play a pivotal role in managing procurement activities that drive operational excellence and support our organization's goals. In this role, you will support essential procurement processes, manage requests for proposals (RFPs), negotiate agreements, and conduct cost analyses. As a Procurement Specialist, you will be the key point of contact for supplier relationships, ensuring seamless coordination of purchase orders, on-time deliveries, and effective communication to meet production schedules.
You'll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Engineering, to streamline procurement processes, resolve challenges, and ensure delivery performance.
Your responsibilities will include sourcing, negotiating, awarding, and documenting supplier agreements for both material and service needs. By optimizing procurement activities and maintaining strong supplier relationships, you will contribute to the success of our operations and deliver exceptional internal customer satisfaction. Manage the procurement for all material from purchase request through on time delivery and acceptance and ensuring proper date alignment with manufacturing schedule.
Coordinates the necessary activities within the Supply Chain team and wider business by mean of direct collaboration, to ensure successful fulfilment of the manufacturing plan. Drives actions to improve on time delivery to customer. Align supplier schedules with facility needs and obtain schedule and delivery confirmations from suppliers to mitigate delivery risks.
Drive resolution of problems related to shortages, missed or late deliveries. Assess and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality products are received according to schedule.
Collaborate with Quality to ensure supplier material meets specifications and contractual requirements.
Support strategic projects in support of facility/company goals. Being comfortable with technology and systems, work to maintain data integrity of the inventory management systems and logistics databases in support of Program requirements. Ensure compliance for suppliers and all procurement to policies and procedures.
University
Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or Inventory/Resource Management related program (or equivalent work experience) Minimum 2 years buying and/or planning experience Solid computer skills in the Microsoft suite of programs with emphasis on Excel and Project Knowledge of inventory management processes and philosophies, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Just in Time (JIT).

Dynamics experience would be considered an asset Continuous Improvement process experience Able to communicate and present precise information to internal/external customers and leadership Self-directed and action-oriented with the ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to work in a team environment and work effectively with all levels of internal and external customers The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and obtain/maintain a Government of Canada security clearance and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.

The salary range for this role is 54,000 CAD - 93,150 CAD.
