Job Summary

KGM provides interactive computer and technology courses designed specifically for children and teens and their unique learning styles. We are currently seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and energetic Instructors to join our team for upcoming recreation programs throughout York Region, including Richmond Hill, Markham, Newmarket, and Aurora.

KGM Instructors deliver our in-house developed technology curriculum, helping students build skills in areas such as math, science, engineering, coding, and art.

Our instructors combine professionalism with a minimum of 1 year of STEM teaching experience and a genuine interest in working with children and teens. Successful instructors are flexible, patient, energetic, supportive, and ready to create a fun and engaging learning environment.

Instructors work closely with the Program Supervisor for program logistics, support, and professional development.

The ideal KGM Instructor is organized, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. This role requires robust critical-thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and priorities in a busy environment.

A valid G-class driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are required, as instructors must be able to transport course equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver the curriculum and use the instructional resources provided by KGM to create a fun, organized, and rewarding experience for students.




- Teach key concepts through a variety of instructional methods, including hands-on learning and group activities.
- Deliver lessons with enthusiasm, structure, and subject knowledge while guiding students through the completion of individual projects.
- Create an engaging and enjoyable classroom environment.
- Collaborate with, guide, and oversee one or more Assistant Instructors and/or Volunteers who support program delivery.
- Participate in staff meetings as required.
- Engage with students and help ensure they remain safe, involved, and having fun throughout the program.
- Manage classroom setup and turnover, student sign-in, safe departure procedures, and completion of all required forms and documentation.

Skills & Qualifications

- Minimum 1 year of experience teaching STEM programs, preferably in a classroom or instructional setting.
- Previous experience teaching coding or science is required.
- Confident, outgoing, and comfortable leading larger groups.
- Experience working with children or youth, including children or youth with special needs.
- Energetic, patient, adaptable, and genuinely interested in working with children.
- Able to learn new software and technologies quickly and willing to participate in training.
- Proficient with Google Workspace.
- Experience or knowledge in any of the following areas is considered an asset:
- Game Design & Development
- Programming, including Scratch, Python, or similar languages/platforms
- 3D Modeling & Design
- Computer Animation
- Robotics
- Virtual Reality
- App Development

Note: Kids Great Minds provides full training and detailed lesson plans.

Requirements

- Valid G-class driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.



Candidates must be able to transport course equipment.
- Current CPR-C / First Aid certification and HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development certification, to be completed 7–14 days before the program start date.
- Completion of a Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) 7–14 days before the program start date.
- Completion of all required online and in-person training and onboarding documentation before programs begin.

Job Locations Kids Great Minds partners with municipalities throughout the GTA to deliver computer and technology programs at local community centres, libraries, and schools.

We are currently looking for candidates who are available to work at various locations throughout:

- Richmond Hill
- Markham
- Newmarket
- Aurora

Compensation Hourly Wage: $21.00–$23.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
