VOLCANIX AUTOMATION is seeking experienced Controls & Robotics Engineers with a strong BIW (Body-in-White) or GA (General Assembly) background to support automotive projects across North America, primarily with General Motors and other OEMs. Our clients are located outside of Greater Toronto Area (GTA), so candidates should be within commuting distance of the region or willing to relocate. This role involves working on automotive body shop systems, including robotic welding cells, framing stations, and high-speed automated lines.

Candidates must be comfortable working on-site in demanding production environments and supporting launches, integrations, and troubleshooting activities Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC systems Program and integrate industrial robots inBIW applications (spot welding, handling, sealing) Commission and debugbody shop equipment and robotic cells Integrate robots with PLC-controlled systems and safety devices Work with welding systems (spot welding, projection welding, stud welding) Perform system validation, buy-offs, and customer acceptance tests Troubleshoot electrical, controls,



and robotic issues on-site Collaborate with controls, mechanical, and production teams Controls Engineering: Solid PLC programming experience Experience with industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profinet) Robotics (BIW Focus): Experience with industrial robots such as: Experience in robotic welding applications (spot welding highly preferred) Strong commissioning and troubleshooting skills in body shop environments 2+ years of experience in BIW (Body-in-White) or GA (General Assembly) ~ strong experience in BIW within the automotive industry (OEM or Tier 1) Tier 1 automotive suppliers Framing stations Integration of welding controllers (e.g., Willingness to travel 90–100% across North America Ability to work independently on customer sites Engineering or technical degree preferred Eligible for TN Visa Eligible for Canadian Work Permit Authorized to work and travel across North America Travel and work-related expenses will be covered by the company #
