Job Summary

We are a seniors home and are seeking a dedicated and (somewhat) experienced person to join our culinary and meal service team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and plating quality food in a home-like, medium-paced environment. This role requires a passion for food, excellent service skills, and a commitment to food safety standards.

The Cook will play a vital part in ensuring our guests receive exceptional dining experiences through expert meal preparation and attentive service.

YES, we will provide on-site, in person training.

Duties

- Prepare and cook dishes/meals according to recipes and quality standards
- Serve food to seniors in a timely and professional manner
- Handle food with care, adhering to proper food safety and sanitation protocols
- Assist with food presentation, garnishing, and plating to ensure visual appeal
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas throughout shifts
- Follow all health regulations related to food handling and safety
- Support team members during busy hours, including taking orders and providing excellent customer service




- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations

Qualifications

- Prior experience in a retirement home, nursing home or seniors home, food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Good communication skills and teamwork-oriented attitude
- Food handling certification or willingness to obtain certification required for compliance with health regulations
