The Wiidookaw Health Outreach
Worker is integral to promoting health equity among Indigenous communities. In this temporary full-time role, you will engage with individuals and families, providing culturally protected health education and connecting them with vital services. Your expertise in community outreach and understanding of Indigenous culture will empower community members to access care and traditional wellness practices. Key Responsibilities:
- Build trusted relationships with community members
- Provide health education on wellness and disease prevention
- Advocate for culturally safe care and reduce service barriers
- Organize health events, workshops, and ceremonies
- Maintain records of outreach activities and support evaluation Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Health with 2 years experience
- Experience supporting Indigenous women and children
- Knowledge of traditional wellness practices
- Excellent communication skills
