About Willowbrae Academy
Willowbrae Academy is a growing childcare and early-learning organization with Academies across Canada and the United States. We are committed to providing protected, engaging and developmentally appropriate environments where children can thrive. Our Academy teams are supported by a common educational philosophy, practical operating standards and ongoing training, helping us deliver a consistent, high-quality experience for children and families as the Willowbrae network grows.
Willowbrae Academy is looking for an experienced Curriculum and Training Specialist to support the continued development, implementation and consistent delivery of our educational programs across our growing network of academies.
A key priority of this role will be to spearhead Willowbrae's Curriculum Development Project, taking a lead role in the review, enhancement and future development of our curriculum and educational programming.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands early childhood education and knows how to translate curriculum, standards and best practices into practical training that educators and Academy leaders can successfully implement.
What You Will Be Doing
· Spearhead Willowbrae's Curriculum Development Project and help shape the future direction of our educational programming.
· Lead the review, development and continuous improvement of Willowbrae curriculum and educational resources.
· Coordinate curriculum-development priorities, timelines, stakeholders and implementation plans.
· Maintain the integrity and consistent implementation of Willowbrae's educational standards across Academies.
· Translate curriculum, operational standards and educational expectations into practical, repeatable training.
· Develop facilitator guides, presentations, workshops, online learning,
assessments and supporting resources.
· Deliver engaging training to Academy Directors, leadership teams and educators.
· Support onboarding and ongoing professional development for Academy teams.
· Coach Academy leaders and educators on curriculum implementation and classroom practice.
· Support Willowbrae's Montessori, HighScope and Emergent curriculum approaches.
· Lead the implementation and rollout of new and enhanced Willowbrae curriculum initiatives.
· Work with Operations and Academy leadership to identify training and curriculum gaps.
· Support classroom observations, educational quality reviews and improvement initiatives.
· Develop refresher and remedial training where gaps in standards or practice are identified.
· Establish measurable standards and tools for evaluating whether training is transferring into classroom practice.
· Research developments and emerging best practices within early childhood education.
· Ensure curriculum and training can be delivered consistently across multiple locations as Willowbrae grows.
What We Are Looking For
· A strong professional background in Early Childhood Education, curriculum development or educator training, with relevant degree.
· Demonstrated experience developing, reviewing or implementing curriculum.
· The ability to lead a curriculum-development project and coordinate multiple stakeholders and priorities.
· Demonstrated experience developing and delivering training to adult learners.
· Strong understanding of early-years curriculum and classroom practice.
· Experience with Montessori, HighScope and/or Emergent curriculum approaches is highly desirable.
· Experience coaching teachers, educators or educational leaders.
· The ability to turn complex curriculum or standards into clear, practical training.
· Strong facilitation, presentation and written communication skills.
· Experience developing scalable resources for consistent use across multiple locations.
· Strong organizational and project-management skills.
· The ability to collaborate effectively with Operations, Academy leadership and other support departments.
· Experience within a multi-site, franchise, childcare or education organization would be an asset.
The Person
We are looking for someone who is comfortable moving between curriculum development, project leadership, training and operations. You may spend one day leading work on Willowbrae's Curriculum Development Project, another developing training materials, and another working directly with Academy teams to strengthen curriculum implementation.
You should be passionate about early childhood education but practical in your approach. Successful curriculum is not simply what appears in a manual. It is what educators understand, adopt and consistently deliver in the classroom.
This role provides an opportunity to play a significant part in shaping the future of Willowbrae's curriculum and the educational experience delivered to children across the Willowbrae Academy system.
