Development Manager-Java Microservices Contract Length: 4 Months possible extension Raise is currently hiring a Development Manager-Java Microservices on behalf of our client. Our Client is a technology company that combines decades of industry expertise with next-generation AI technology that helps organizations reinvent how they build, operate and deliver by pairing human ingenuity with agentic systems that scale intelligence across the enterprise. As a Manager Technology, you will lead and manage Java Microservices-based engineering teams, ensuring the successful delivery of scalable, high-performance solutions.

Lead and mentor Java engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Architect, design, and develop Java-based microservices solutions that align with business and technical requirements. Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of microservices-based applications.

Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define and prioritize technical requirements. Drive best practices in Agile development, CI/CD, and DevOps to accelerate software delivery. Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring timely resolution of issues.

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of engineering initiatives. Stay updated on emerging Java and microservices trends, tools, and frameworks to drive continuous improvement.



Foster a customer-centric approach, ensuring that technology solutions meet business objectives and user needs. 8+ years of experience in Java development, with a strong focus on microservices architecture. ~ Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams in an Agile environment. ~ Expertise in Java frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Hibernate. ~ Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). ~ Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps best practices. ~ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to drive technical decisions. ~ Certifications in Java, Spring, or cloud platforms. ~ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical work experience). ~ Java / Spring Certifications: ~ Oracle Certified Professional: Java SE (Developer) ~ Cloud Platform Certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP): AWS Certified Solutions Architect / Developer Microsoft Certified: Scrum Alliance Certifications (CSM or CSP for Agile leadership) Domain-Driven Design (DDD) formal workshop or qualified training credentials Candidates in this role will be required to work at the client’s site 4 days a week in Brampton, Ontario #
