As a unionized environment, Lift's programs and services include employment services, supportive housing and homeless outreach, literacy programs and outreach, immigrant services, adult and family on-demand support. We also provide community leadership and development in overdose response planning, poverty reduction planning, and other projects that develop a more connected and resilient community. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Dietitian applies evidence-based nutrition practice, harm reduction principles, and culturally safe approaches to support individuals experiencing complex medical, mental health, substance use, and social challenges.
The role contributes to improved health outcomes, food security, chronic disease management, and overall quality of life for participants through collaborative care planning, client advocacy, and health promotion initiatives. Part-time Work site: Complex Care Housing, New Roots Clinic Hourly wage: $41.97 - $52.26 per hour Community Health Services Manager Current full registration as a Dietitian with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC). Graduate of a Dietitians of Canada accredited Dietetic Internship Program.
Two (2) years recent related clinical experience in community nutrition, primary care, public health, mental health and substance use,
or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle for local area travel. Comprehensive nutrition assessment and care planning Evidence-based nutrition intervention and chronic disease management Individual and group nutrition education and counselling Food security promotion and community resource navigation Community outreach and health promotion Solid clinical documentation and health record management Program evaluation and quality improvement Professional communication and relationship building Commitment to workplace health and safety, infection prevention, and risk management Works with individuals who may be experiencing complex trauma, mental health concerns, substance use, behavioural challenges, and housing instability, requiring calm, compassionate, and professional responses.
Performs duties requiring extended periods of sitting, walking, computer use, and occasional lifting of supplies or equipment up to 20 lbs. Requires flexibility to attend community meetings, outreach activities, or client appointments outside standard office hours as operationally required.
