The Opportunity

We are looking for a Director of Technology, AI and Data Transformation to establish and lead a modern, integrated technology function.

This is not a role focused solely on maintaining systems or managing individual technology projects. You will shape the company’s technology strategy, strengthen the team and operating model, and guide transformation across AI, data, software development, e-commerce, business systems, cybersecurity and technology partnerships.

You will work closely with senior leadership to translate business priorities into a practical technology roadmap and ensure investments create measurable improvements in revenue, operational efficiency, customer experience, employee productivity, risk management and decision-making.

What You Will Lead

Technology Strategy and Leadership

- Develop and lead the company’s technology strategy and roadmap.

- Bring AI, data, software development, e-commerce technology, business systems, internal IT and cybersecurity under one coordinated operating model.

- Establish clear standards for technology decisions, documentation, project delivery, system ownership and performance measurement.

- Partner with senior leaders to prioritize investments, assess risks and prepare the company for future growth.

AI Transformation

- Lead the company’s transition toward becoming an AI-enabled business in a practical, secure and measurable way.

- Identify and prioritize high-value AI opportunities with department leaders.

- Guide AI platform and vendor selection, governance, data readiness, access controls, adoption and change management.

- Move AI initiatives beyond experimentation and into business workflows with clear owners, success measures and demonstrated results.

- Build responsible AI practices covering privacy, security, data handling, monitoring and vendor risk.

Data Strategy and Analytics

- Lead the development of a reliable data foundation for reporting,



analytics, automation, forecasting and AI agents.

- Oversee data warehouse development, integrations, data models, dashboards and business intelligence.

- Establish standards for data quality, governance, architecture and access management.

- Ensure leaders have timely, accurate and actionable information for decision-making.

Software Development and E-commerce Technology

- Lead internal developers, technical leaders, project resources and external development partners.

- Guide decisions involving system architecture, APIs, integrations, scalability, technical debt and maintainability.

- Ensure e-commerce technology supports conversion, customer experience, pricing, quoting, product management, analytics and operational efficiency.

- Strengthen requirements gathering, sprint planning, testing, release management, documentation and post-launch support.

Business Systems Internal IT and Cybersecurity

- Oversee Zoho and other business systems, ensuring they are secure, scalable and properly integrated.

- Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve business processes through systems and automation.

- Manage the third-party IT provider responsible for employee technology, Microsoft 365, access management, support and cybersecurity controls.

- Strengthen security practices related to remote work, AI tools, data access, vendors, onboarding and offboarding.

Team Vendor and Budget Leadership

- Lead and develop technical employees across AI, data, development and project delivery.

- Create clearer roles, priorities, delivery standards, communication practices and accountability.

- Own the technology budget, software investments, vendor contracts and agency relationships.

- Evaluate vendors based on performance, security, scalability, service quality, cost and long-term business value.

Requirements

What You Bring

- At least 10 years of progressive experience across technology leadership, AI transformation, data, software,



automation or enterprise systems.

- Experience leading technology teams and managing developers, technical project resources, data or AI professionals, vendors and external agencies.

- Demonstrated experience moving AI initiatives from concept or pilot into operational use.

- Strong understanding of AI governance, privacy, security, vendor risk, user adoption and change management.

- Earlier hands-on technical experience in areas such as software development, data engineering, systems architecture, integrations, APIs, databases, AI or automation.

- Strong knowledge of data infrastructure, data warehouses, business intelligence, analytics and system integrations.

- The technical judgment to evaluate and challenge recommendations involving architecture, data models, integrations, software quality and AI solutions.

- Experience managing technology budgets, software investments, vendor contracts and technology roadmaps.

- Working knowledge of cybersecurity, access controls, IT governance, Microsoft environments and technology for remote workforces.

- The ability to explain complex technology decisions clearly to non-technical leaders and connect technology initiatives to business results.

Preferred Experience

- Technology or AI transformation within a growing business.

- E-commerce, B2B, distribution, construction products, retail, SaaS or another technology-enabled setting.

- Zoho One, Deluge, BigCommerce, Laravel, Google BigQuery, Microsoft 365, data warehouses, APIs, CRM, ERP or business-intelligence platforms.

- AI agents, AI-enabled workflows, internal knowledge systems, automation programs or customer-facing AI tools.

- Remote technical teams and international development agencies.

- Building or improving a technology department, development practices, documentation standards and vendor governance.
