As a Dishwasher / Kitchen Helper, you play an essential role in the success of our kitchen operations. Duties & Responsibilities

Kitchen Operations & Sanitation

- Set up and organize the dishwashing station at the start of each shift to ensure efficient workflow.
- Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, cookware, and food preparation equipment.
- Follow Sunterra's approved cleaning and sanitization procedures and standards.
- Ensure clean pots, pans, trays, and smallwares are returned to their appropriate kitchen stations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized dish area throughout the shift.
- Clean dish machine filters, spray arms, sinks, and surrounding equipment at required intervals.
- Complete all required sanitation and cleaning logs accurately and on time.
- Perform end-of-shift cleaning duties and ensure the work area is left clean and ready for the next shift.

Team Support & Kitchen Assistance

- Support cooks and kitchen team members by ensuring a steady supply of clean equipment and utensils.




- Assist with basic kitchen and food preparation tasks as directed by the Kitchen Team Lead.
- Help organize storage areas, supplies, and kitchen equipment.
- Restock clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools throughout the day.
- Communicate effectively with team members to support smooth kitchen operations during busy production periods.

Safety & Facility Maintenance

- Follow all Food Safety, WHMIS, Occupational Health & Safety, and sanitation standards.
- Maintain dry and secure walking surfaces through regular floor cleaning and mopping.
- Remove garbage, recycling, and cardboard promptly and safely.
- Operate waste disposal equipment, including compactors, according to company procedures.
- Immediately report equipment concerns, safety hazards, or maintenance issues to leadership.

Qualifications

- Previous dishwashing, cleaning, food service, or kitchen experience is considered an asset but is not required.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to cleanliness, organization, and teamwork.
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- WHMIS Certification required (training provided by Sunterra).




- Food Safety Certification required (training provided by Sunterra).

Working Conditions

- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying.
- Regular exposure to wet, humid, and temperature-controlled environments.
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs safely.
- Working with commercial dishwashing equipment, cleaning solutions, and kitchen tools.
- Fast-paced environment requiring strong organization and attention to detail.
