The Pawffice is looking for a reliable, hardworking and compassionate Dog Daycare & Boarding Attendant to join our team.

We are a professional dog daycare, boarding and training facility focused on safe socialization, enrichment, positive reinforcement and high standards of animal care.

While loving dogs is important, this job involves much more than playing with them! Our team is responsible for keeping the dogs in our care safe, clean, comfortable and well cared for throughout their stay.

What You’ll Do

- Safely supervise and engage groups of dogs of different sizes, personalities and play styles.
- Learn to recognize canine body language, appropriate play and signs of stress.
- Follow positive reinforcement handling and training methods.
- Provide enrichment activities and assist with basic training exercises.
- Clean and sanitize daycare areas, kennel suites, yards and equipment throughout the day.
- Clean up urine, feces, vomit and other inevitable dog-related messes.
- Prepare meals and administer medications according to instructions.
- Monitor dogs for changes in behaviour, appetite, mobility or overall wellbeing.
- Complete daily checklists, care notes and incident documentation.
- Assist with client drop-offs and pick-ups.
- Complete laundry, dishes, garbage, snow clearing and general facility upkeep.
- Follow all animal-handling, safety and emergency procedures.

What We’re Looking For Previous professional dog-care experience is an asset, but reliability, good judgement and willingness to learn are most important to us.

- Can stand for extended periods, bend/crouch frequently and lift approximately 40+ lbs.
- Are comfortable working outdoors in Newfoundland weather.

Schedule & Availability This is a permanent part time position, typically 15–25 hours per week, with the opportunity for increased hours, potentially up to full-time, based on availability, performance and business needs.

Shifts may fall between 7:00 AM and 10:30 PM, Monday–Sunday. Our daycare operates Monday–Friday, while our boarding dogs require care evenings, weekends and holidays.

Applicants do not need to be available for every shift, but flexible availability is an asset.

Training & Development

We provide on-the-job and professional training in areas including canine body language, safe group management, positive reinforcement methods and pet first aid.

Wages may be reviewed following successful completion of training and the probationary period, with consideration given to experience, performance, demonstrated competency and level of responsibility.
