We are looking for a Dog Groomer to join the Doggy Shop team

Doggy Shop Grooming | Abbotsford, BC

Part-time or full-time | Flexible schedule

Doggy Shop Grooming is looking for an experienced groomer to join our team.

We’re looking for more than someone who can do a great groom. We want someone who genuinely cares about dogs, takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a team, and wants to contribute to a workplace where people support one another and enjoy coming to work.

We already have an experienced, talented team and a loyal group of clients. As we continue to grow, we want to add someone who fits the culture we’re building around trust, care, growth mindset, open communication, teamwork — and some fun along the way.

You might be a great fit if you:

- Genuinely care about the dogs in your care and their comfort and well-being
- Take pride in producing high-quality grooming work
- Are dependable, professional and kind
- Enjoy helping your teammates when the day gets busy
- Communicate openly and respectfully
- Are comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas and speaking up when something isn’t working
- Can receive feedback constructively and give it respectfully
- Own mistakes, learn from them and keep moving forward
- Want to continue developing your skills and exploring your potential
- Like working somewhere that can be both professional and fun

About the role

We’re open to discussing a schedule that works well for both you and the salon. There is flexibility in the number and combination of days worked, so this could suit someone looking for anything from a few regular days to a larger schedule.

Our priority is finding the right person, rather than filling a specific schedule as quickly as possible.

You’ll work alongside experienced groomers in an established salon with an existing client base. We want our groomers to have the tools, equipment and support they need to do excellent work,

and we actively involve the team in conversations about how the salon can work better.

What we value

Care. Care for the dogs. Care for the clients. Care for each other.

Trust. We trust capable people to do their jobs. We communicate directly, assume positive intent and follow through on what we say.

Growth Mindset. None of us — including the owner — knows everything. We value people who are curious, willing to learn and interested in exploring their potential.

Teamwork. We may each have our own dogs and schedules, but ultimately we are one salon. When someone needs help, we help.

What we’re looking for

Previous professional grooming experience is strongly preferred. We’re particularly interested in someone who:

- Is confident completing full grooms independently
- Has strong handling skills and puts animal welfare first
- Communicates professionally with clients and teammates
- Is reliable and able to manage their grooming day effectively
- Maintains a clean, safe and organized work area
- Is flexible and willing to contribute as the salon continues to grow

Compensation will be discussed based on experience, skill level and schedule.

Doggy Shop is an established Abbotsford grooming salon with a strong client base and an experienced team. We’re deliberately building a workplace where great groomers want to stay, great clients want to come, and dogs are genuinely well cared for.

If that sounds like the kind of place you’d like to work, we’d love to hear from you.

Send your application to [email protected] and tell us about your grooming experience, the type of schedule you’re looking for, and — just as importantly — what makes a grooming salon a great place to work for you.

Please feel free to share with a groomer who might be a excellent fit for our team.
