Looking for a grooming position where you can focus on the dogs—not the chaos of a busy salon?

Paw De Janeiro is looking for an experienced Dog Groomer to join our small, personalized grooming team for a 1-year maternity leave contract, from January 2027 to January 2028.

We offer 50% commission, flexible scheduling, and a calm one-on-one grooming environment where quality and the individual needs of each dog come first.

This position is a great opportunity for an experienced groomer who is currently working at another salon and looking for additional hours, or someone looking for a flexible part-time grooming position.

You'll have the opportunity to work independently, build relationships with your clients, and focus on producing quality grooms.

What We're Looking For We're looking for an experienced groomer who:
- Has previous professional grooming experience
- Can confidently complete full-service grooms independently
- Is comfortable grooming a variety of breeds and coat types
- Is comfortable handling shy,



nervous, and reactive dogs
- Takes pride in producing quality work
- Practices safe and compassionate dog handling
- Is reliable, professional, and comfortable working independently
- Communicates professionally with clients
- Has their own professional grooming tools, including clippers, scissors/shears, blades, combs, brushes, and other necessary equipment

This is NOT a training or apprenticeship position. Applicants must already have professional grooming experience and be able to groom independently. Portfolio & Test Groom A portfolio of previous grooming work is required at the interview.

Candidates who move forward in the hiring process will be asked to complete a test groom so we can assess grooming ability, handling skills, and overall approach.

Contract Details

Position: Part-Time Dog Groomer

Contract: 1-Year Maternity Leave Coverage

Start: January 2027

End: January 2028

Compensation: 50% Commission

Schedule: Flexible The groomer currently on maternity leave will be returning to her full-time position in January 2028, so this is a temporary one-year contract.
