Duties

- Provide on-demand support to early childhood classrooms, assisting teachers with daily activities and routines
- Engage children in age-appropriate educational play, fostering social-emotional development and curiosity
- Support individualized care plans for children with special needs or disabilities, ensuring inclusive participation
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff in both English and French to promote understanding and collaboration
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment by following health and safety protocols
- Assist with administrative tasks such as documentation, attendance tracking, and updating educational records




- Participate in ongoing training sessions to stay current on early childhood education best practices and regulations

Skills

- Fluency in English; proficiency in French is highly desirable for bilingual communication
- Solid childcare experience with children of various ages; familiarity with early childhood education principles
- Experience working with children who have disabilities or special needs; understanding of inclusive teaching strategies
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, and team members
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and organizational skills for maintaining an engaging learning environment
- Computer skills including basic operation of educational software, record keeping, and documentation tools
- Ability to manage time efficiently while juggling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced setting
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with a proactive attitude toward supporting team goals
- Writing skills for accurate record documentation and communication reports
