Power Your Future with Qualus in our Transmission & Distribution Canada business. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our well-established team of engineers and designers. This role offers long-term workload stability, exposure to a diverse portfolio of utility and renewable energy projects, and the opportunity to take on increasing technical responsibility across all stages of project delivery.

You will work on projects ranging from 12 kV to 500 kV, supporting designs from early concept through construction and commissioning. Perform and coordinate the design of electrical substations (12 kV to 500 kV), including layouts and station service systems, with limited supervision Perform and independently check engineering calculations, studies, and analyses, including: Rigid and flexible bus studies Take ownership of assigned design packages and ensure quality, completeness, and alignment with project requirements Prepare and review engineering documents, including design criteria, technical specifications, reports, and drawing lists Review vendor drawings and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project specifications and design intent Provide engineering support during construction, including responding to RFIs, issuing technical clarifications, and participating in field reviews Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (civil/structural, protection & control, telecom etc.) Support project delivery by managing assigned tasks within scope, schedule, and budget constraints Provide guidance and mentorship to junior EITs and designers, including reviewing work and sharing technical knowledge Maintain accurate project documentation and contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement processes Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university ~ Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or eligible for / working toward P.Demonstrated experience in substation design, including layouts, grounding,



and bus design; BC Hydro or utility project experience is an asset ~ Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards (Canadian Electrical Code, IEEE, IEC, CSA, OH&S;) ~ Working knowledge of engineering tools such as AutoCAD, CYMCAP, CDEGS, WINIGS, ETAP, or similar;
