École McTavish High School is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our instructional team in the role of High School Social Studies 10/20/30.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate would possess the following background, philosophy, and experience:

- Bachelor of Education
- BA with a major in History

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

- Previous experience teaching Social Studies at the 10/20/30 level.
- The ability to work in a team environment with staff and parents.
- A base knowledge of differentiated instruction techniques.
- Effective organization skills and classroom management.
- The ability to utilize technology as an instructional tool.




- An ability to design and implement Individual Program Plans for special needs students.
- A willingness to participate in the school community beyond the classroom.
- An interest in teaching a wide variety of electives.
- A commitment to continuous professional growth and a robust ability to connect and build relationships with high school students.

All candidates must hold or be able to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate, have knowledge of curriculum and teaching experience at those levels/subject areas and demonstrated interpersonal and classroom management skills The successful candidate will be required to provide a criminal record/vulnerable sector check which will be reviewed to ensure suitability of the candidate for the position.
