We aspire to help our advertisers and partners reach their audiences with inspiring content. Pinterest is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Android Modernization team in Toronto. You’ll lead the engineering team that is empowering Android developers at Pinterest to build modern, world-class app experiences for Pinners and advertisers with high productivity, performance, and quality.
Lead, coach and grow a specialized team of Android engineers. Set the team’s technical vision and roadmap in partnership with Client Platforms and cross-functional product teams. Drive platform modernization that helps product teams adopt modern client architectures and build high-quality experiences.
Establish explicit operating rhythms for planning, two-week sprints, risk management and monthly stakeholder updates. Use AI to accelerate engineering workflows and modernization while applying judgment and verification to maintain code quality, security and reliability. 10+ years of experience in engineering,
including 2+ years of experience in engineering management. ~ Strong technical judgment grounded in mobile Android engineering, e.g. Kotlin, Compose, and modern architectures like MVVM. ~ Experience partnering with Senior/Staff engineers to build high impact roadmaps. ~ Experience building platform capabilities that improve the productivity and effectiveness of product engineering teams. ~ Demonstrated ability to use AI to improve speed and quality in day-to-day workflows, with a strong practice of validating AI-assisted work and maintaining ownership of final outcomes. ~ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field or equivalent experience.
