Brunel is seeking an experienced Industrial Hygienist to join our client's team in either Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta. This is an exciting opportunity for a safety-focused professional to play a key role in supporting occupational health, industrial hygiene, and site safety initiatives across office and field environments. Working closely with project leadership and contractors, you will help drive excellence in Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) performance through hazard identification, risk mitigation, compliance oversight, exposure assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will bring experience within heavy industry, construction, oil & gas, or related sectors, along with strong technical expertise, stakeholder management skills, and a passion for creating protected and healthy workplaces. Review designs for new projects and upgrade of existing facilities for compliance with company and industry safety standards.

Respond to emergency situations and incidents either during or after regular working hours, to provide technical assistance and advice.

Assigned tasks may include: preparation of articles for publication, development of promotional materials, and delivery of presentations.



Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent preferred ROH (Registered Occupational Hygienist) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) designation required Demonstrated work experience in construction safety-related positions (including some prior oil & gas experience) Proficient in use of computers and programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Microsoft Office Demonstrated ability (through past project successes) to deliver excellence in project SSHE performance Must be fit for duty for a construction field environment (examples include uneven, unpaved walking surfaces, large structures that are accessible only via ladders or stairs, standing for extended time periods, climbing, bending, walking, reaching, and other physical demands) Ability to work in harsh environments (examples include temperature and / or humidity extremes, remote locations with limited amenities) with changing priorities Ability to set priorities and work independently in performing contractor services with an appreciation for company processes and procedures With 50 years of market experience in Renewable Energy, Automotive, Oil & Gas, Life Sciences, Mining and Infrastructure, we help you finish major projects safely, compliantly, on-time, within budget and at the highest quality, so you can keep growing - anywhere in the world. #
