Building

Infrastructure for Life. We’re looking for an experienced Estimator who enjoys understanding how work gets built and turning that knowledge into accurate, competitive estimates. This remote, part-time opportunity offers flexibility while keeping you connected to an experienced operations team.

You’ll prepare estimates for assigned projects involving roads, underground infrastructure, earthworks, aggregates, trucking and surface mining services. Preparing quantity takeoffs and detailed labour, equipment, material and subcontractor estimates. Obtaining and comparing supplier and subcontractor quotations.

Working with operations to establish practical construction methods, production rates and schedules. Identifying scope gaps, risks, assumptions and opportunities to improve competitiveness.



Preparing bid documents and handing off awarded estimates to the project team.

Five or more years of relevant heavy civil estimating experience. Strong knowledge of roadbuilding, earthworks or underground infrastructure.

Experience with crushing, aggregates, drilling and blasting, or surface mining is an asset. Proficiency in Excel and digital takeoff tools such as Bluebeam. Relevant technical education or an equivalent combination of estimating and field experience.

Occasional travel to Northern Ontario may be required by prior arrangement. Hourly compensation will be competitive based on relevant experience and demonstrated capability. Approximately 20–30 hours per week, with additional hours by agreement.
