Job Summary

Rooster Building Group Ltd. is a Calgary-based construction company specializing in building envelope restoration, waterproofing, concrete repairs, and exterior rehabilitation.

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Caulking Technician to join our team and work on commercial, multi-residential, and other building restoration projects throughout Calgary and the surrounding areas.

This position is suited to someone who has hands-on caulking experience, understands proper surface preparation and sealant application, and takes pride in delivering clean, durable, high-quality work.

Responsibilities

- Remove existing deteriorated caulking and sealants from windows, doors, expansion joints, control joints, and other building envelope components.
- Prepare surfaces for new sealant installation, including cleaning, removing residue, and installing backer rod where required.
- Apply exterior and interior sealants in accordance with project specifications and manufacturer recommendations.
- Complete sealant replacement and waterproofing-related repairs on commercial and multi-residential buildings.
- Work safely at heights using ladders, lifts, swing stages, or other approved access equipment.
- Protect adjacent surfaces and maintain a clean, skilled work area.
- Follow project scopes, drawings, site instructions, and quality requirements.
- Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to meet project schedules.
- Follow company safety procedures and applicable occupational health and safety requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on caulking or sealant installation experience.
- Experience with commercial buildings, condominiums, or multi-residential projects.
- Knowledge of sealant removal, surface preparation, backer rod installation, and proper sealant application.
- Comfortable working at heights and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.




- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation to job sites.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of construction work.

Assets

- Experience with DOWSIL, Tremco, Sika, or other commercial-grade sealant systems.
- Valid Working at Heights or applicable fall-protection training.
- Aerial work platform or lift certification.
- Experience with swing stages and other building access systems.
- Additional experience in waterproofing, concrete restoration, or building envelope repairs.

Work Schedule

- Full-time, generally Monday to Friday.
- Approximately 40 hours per week, depending on project schedules.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
- Work at various project sites throughout Calgary and surrounding areas.
