Reporting to the Supervisor Family Wellness, the Family Resource Worker (FRW) will work as a support to the Family Wellness office in close concert with the Community Social Services Worker (CSSW) and other community resources to coordinate prevention programs for families, children, youth, elders and the community.

Main Responsibilities For The Family Resource Worker Include

- Developing and delivering family wellness activities that enhance social, emotional, and cultural well-being while fostering community resilience

- Planning, developing, and implementing family wellness activities rooted in Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (IQ) Principles and cultural practices

- Facilitating culturally relevant programs, including land-based activities, Elder mentorship, and traditional parenting workshops

- Working collaboratively with Elders, community leaders, and local service providers to design preventative, strengths-based interventions for families

- Acting as a bridge between traditional Inuit knowledge and contemporary service delivery

- Incorporating storytelling, cultural practices,



and community customs into program activities

- Supporting families in strengthening cultural identity, resilience, and intergenerational connections

- Maintaining accurate and confidential records of family wellness programming and community engagement activities

- Working closely with regional and territorial Family Wellness teams to share best practices and program innovations

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a Minimum of Grade 12 with two years related experience.

Applied Suicide Intervention

Training (ASSIST) or ability to complete training within six months from date of hiring is required.

Human Resource Services

Diploma or Social Services Worker Diploma or related certificate would be an asset.

This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in Inuktitut is required for the position. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land,Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit,



Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural workplace are also considered assets.

Acceptable combinations of education and experience may be considered for this position. We encourage you to apply if you have equivalent years of education and/or experience equal to the education and experience requirements listed above.
