The Social
Worker will provide counselling/therapy and other therapeutic functions, crisis intervention and participate in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs and services for clients. As a key member of the inter-professional team, the Social Worker will: Work within the social work scope of practice Make referrals to other community services as appropriate to support client’s goals. Participate in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of treatment, education, counselling and health promotion programs and services for individual, couples, families and the community served by the Centre Assist clients and community partners to build support networks Perform intake assessment, counselling/therapy and crisis intervention functions to individuals,
families and the community and manage case loads effectively Act as a resource person/client advocate to Centre staff, clients and community partners by compiling information on community resources Facilitate access to community resources by liaising with community groups Ensure clients receive community support, health, social and recreational services to which he/she is entitled by acting as a client advocate Supervise graduate students in field placement practicum or internships as appropriate Collaborating with community partners to support population health from a social work perspective Perform other duties that support the mission and vision of the organization and/or as assigned based on position responsibilities and/or site requirements.
Minimum of 3-5 years recent experience in counselling/therapy, with preference to experience in a community health setting Proficiency in current assessment, and psychosocial counseling techniques for working with individuals, couples, families and the community.
Experience in program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation Additional supervised clinical training an asset Adherence to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice of Social Work Strong communication and excellent interpersonal skills, combined with positive analytical, problem solving, organizational and administrative skills Clean driver’s abstract, current, valid Class “G” Driver’s License and reliable transportation to support travel across Windsor-Essex County and the province, as required Graduate degree in Master of Social Work (MSW) required from a recognized University Member in valuable standing and current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers required.
