Position: Finance and Capital Asset Coordinator Director of Finance Permanent, Full time 4 weeks vacation, monthly EDO, 4% employer matched pension, a competitive non-profit sector wages and benefit package. Society of Saskatchewan provides prevention, intervention, support services, and advocacy for individuals who are at risk or are involved in the criminal justice process. Communities have effective, just, humane practices that support positive social outcomes. ___________________________________ Under the direction of the Director of Finance (DOF), the Finance and Capital Asset Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining day to day financial records, track/manage capital and physical assets in support of operational excellence and organizational strategic direction. Create and maintain a centralized asset inventory including but not limited to buildings and contents, vehicles, furniture, tangible assets and all equipment owned by JHSS.
Track assets lifecycle and responsible in assets additions and disposals. Analyze asset condition, replacement costs and prepare capital budget. Maintain fixed assets schedule and amortization. Work and coordinate with leadership team for capital asset planning, procurement,
acquisition and maintenance.
Work with Homebase and Homebase hubs for financial processing and capital asset management. Prepare financial and budget reports for Homebase and Homebase hubs. Communicate and process claims/invoices from the Hubs on a timely manner.
Ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting records by verifying supporting documents/receipts. Assist in annual audit and budgeting process. Support the DOF on tax filings and deadlines. Maintain the daily finance and capital operations of Provincial Office.
Other duties required by the Director of Finance. Knowledge, Skills and Assets Knowledge and understanding of compliance with the designated Risk Management policies of the National John Howard Society. Understanding and commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action.
Knowledgeable in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, GL Modules and Capital Asset Management.
Experience in QuickBooks is an asset. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel. University degree in a related field. ~2+ years work experience in accounting and capital management; JHSS requires a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check for all eligible employees, though the presence of a criminal record will not alone preclude employment and will be investigated to determine the circumstances and the relevance of the convictions for the position being considered in accordance with any applicable legislation.
