Anyon Systems is a Montréal-based quantum computing company building next-generation quantum processors and full-stack quantum computing systems. We operate where physics and engineering converge (hardware, software, cryogenics, control systems, and advanced manufacturing) to enable real-world quantum applications. As we scale across North America and internationally, we are strengthening our finance function to support manufacturing growth, operational excellence, and sound business decisions.

We are seeking a hands-onSenior Financial Controllerwith strong manufacturing experience to own accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and manufacturing cost accounting. You will manage the full accounting cycle, work closely with manufacturing, procurement, engineering, operations, and senior leadership, and provide timely, meaningful financial analysis.

Financial

Reporting and Accounting Own the full accounting cycle and lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closes. Review GL accounts, reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries. Oversee AP, AR, payroll accounting, and cash reconciliations. Maintain accounting policies, documentation, and financial records.

Manufacturing Cost Accounting

Oversee inventory valuation, WIP, finished goods, and COGS. Analyze material, labour, overhead, purchasing, and production variances. Establish controls for purchasing, inventory, production, and capital equipment. Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow planning.



Support working-capital management and expenditure planning.

Internal

Controls and Process Improvement Design and maintain financial controls, approval processes, and segregation of duties. Identify control gaps and lead corrective actions. Standardize and automate accounting and reporting processes as we scale.

Support ERP and accounting system implementation and optimization. Audit, Tax and Compliance Lead annual audits as primary contact for external auditors. Support corporate tax, sales tax, government reporting, and regulatory compliance.

Assist with government funding, grants, tax credits, and SR&ED; documentation. Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisors, and financial institutions. Act as a senior financial partner to the CFO and leadership team.

Build scalable financial practices while staying hands-on in day-to-day accounting. Support and mentor accounting team members as the function grows. 7–10+ years of progressive accounting and controllership experience. ~ CPA designation. ~ Proven experience with inventory, WIP, standard costing, COGS, and manufacturing variances. ~ Asset: experience in technology, advanced manufacturing, aerospace, electronics, semiconductors, or similar complex manufacturing. ~ Asset: experience with government funding programs and SR&ED.; ~ Asset: bilingualism in French and English.
