The Finance
Officer position plays a crucial role in the Indigenous Screen Office, which focuses on promoting Indigenous storytelling and values. You'll collaborate with the Director of Finance and manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Engage in the financial planning processes to ensure solid budgeting and reporting while supporting organizational growth. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with payroll and benefits administration
- Support year-end audit preparation and liaise with auditors
- Manage financial data integrity and reporting formats
- Stay updated on accounting standards and tax legislation
- Review employee expense claims for policy compliance Requirements:
- 3-5 years in non-profit bookkeeping or accounting
- Proficiency in Quickbooks and payroll processing
- Solid understanding of financial concepts for diverse audiences
- Experience with Indigenous communities is an asset
