We are seeking an experienced Freelance Editor/Writer to provide ongoing editorial support for two established and respected B2B real estate publications serving the Canadian market.

The portfolio includes two bi-weekly e-newsletters and a quarterly print magazine. Both titles have an established readership, strong industry recognition and an experienced network of contributing writers.

The role offers an appealing blend of editing, writing and content development, working with contributors while also developing original content and story ideas.

Key Responsibilities

- Edit, refine and proofread articles submitted by contributing writers and industry sources.
- Write original articles, features, interviews, news and editorial content as required.
- Develop story ideas and identify relevant industry trends and issues.
- Work with contributors to strengthen and develop submissions.
- Maintain a consistent, high-quality editorial voice across digital and print publications.
- Adapt content for both e-newsletter and print formats.
- Conduct interviews with industry professionals when appropriate.
- Work with the publisher, design and production teams to meet editorial schedules and deadlines.




- Review final content and proofs for accuracy and quality.

Qualifications

- 3 years' experience in editing, journalism, B2B publishing, communications or professional writing.
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and research skills.
- Strong command of written English and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to make complex industry subjects interesting and accessible to a skilled audience.
- Experience working with contributing writers or subject-matter experts is an asset.
- Digital publishing and e-newsletter experience is an asset.
- Experience in real estate, property management, building operations or a related sector is an asset, but not essential.
- Ability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines.

Compensation: Freelance contract, based on experience, scope and availability.
