Role Description The Freelance Squarespace Web Designer will design and build visually engaging, user-friendly websites for healthcare, nonprofit, and small business clients using Squarespace. This contract, remote role includes translating brand guidelines into cohesive site layouts, customizing templates, configuring site structure and navigation, and ensuring responsive design across devices. Daily tasks involve collaborating with the agency team to interpret project briefs, creating wireframes or mockups when needed, selecting and optimizing imagery, and implementing basic front-end styling within Squarespace.





The designer will also be responsible for testing sites for usability and accessibility, handling revisions based on client feedback, and delivering clean, well-organized projects within agreed timelines.

Qualifications

- Strong Web Design skills, including layout, typography, and user experience tailored for Squarespace.
- Graphic Design and Graphics skills to create or adapt visual assets that align with brand guidelines.
- Front-End Development skills sufficient to customize Squarespace sites (HTML/CSS within platform constraints).
- Responsive Web Design skills to ensure optimal performance and appearance across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
- Experience designing websites for service-based organizations, ideally healthcare or nonprofits.
- Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar) for mockups and visual concepts.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects, and deliver work on schedule in a remote freelance setting.
- Clear, professional communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with creative and non-technical stakeholders.
- Portfolio demonstrating Squarespace projects and relevant web/graphic design work.
