The Grove is looking for warm, capable, and dependable Front of House Associates to join our farm shop team.

Located in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake, The Grove is a year-round farm shop offering fresh, locally sourced produce, thoughtfully selected pantry items, prepared meals, baked goods, and house-made ice cream.

This is a hands-on role for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people. You will play an important part in creating the welcoming, thoughtful experience our customers know and appreciate while keeping the farm shop organized, beautifully presented, and running smoothly.

The Opportunity:

Our front-of-house team shapes every customer visit. From offering thoughtful recommendations and packaging freshly baked treats to maintaining inviting displays, you will help ensure each person feels welcomed and well cared for.

The ideal candidate combines genuine hospitality with strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to move confidently between customer service and daily shop operations. During peak season, the farm shop can become very busy, so remaining composed, attentive, and organized is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

● Welcome customers, answer questions, and offer thoughtful product recommendations.

● Provide friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable customer service.

● Operate the POS system and register accurately, including processing payments.

● Package baked goods and prepare customer and pickup orders with care and accuracy.

● Stock and replenish shelves, displays, refrigerators, and freezers.

● Receive, unpack, rotate, and properly store produce and other products.





● Arrange produce and merchandise in clean, attractive, and well-maintained displays.

● Label products accurately and keep product information current.

● Monitor inventory and promptly communicate low-stock items or discrepancies.

● Relay customer requests, order details, feedback, and product needs to the kitchen and management team.

● Maintain clean, organized, and food-safe customer, checkout, display, and storage areas.

● Complete opening and closing duties, including preparing the shop for customers and completing required POS, display, cleaning, and security checks.

● Balance customer service and operational responsibilities during busy peak-season periods, prioritizing tasks without compromising the customer experience.

● Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to support smooth daily operations.

The role may also include other related responsibilities that support the needs and day-to- day operation of the farm shop.

What We Are Looking For:

The ideal candidate brings

● Previous experience in retail, hospitality, food service, or customer service, which is considered an asset.

● Confidence working directly with customers and creating a welcoming experience.

● Experience using a POS system and handling customer transactions.





● Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

● Excellent organization and attention to detail.

● The ability to prioritize competing tasks, work efficiently, and remain calm and attentive in a busy workplace, particularly during peak season.

● Reliability, punctuality, and a positive, team-oriented approach.

● The ability to work independently and take initiative when something needs attention.

● Availability to complete both opening and closing shifts.

● The ability to perform the essential duties of the position, including standing for extended periods and lifting or moving boxes weighing up to 20 pounds, with accommodation available as required.
