Position description The Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University is seeking physicians who are interested in an academic family medicine career with a focus on family medicine obstetrics.

The successful candidate will join an interprofessional teaching practice within the McMaster Family Health Team (MHFT), providing comprehensive family medicine care alongside a defined role in family medicine obstetrics (FMOB). This position offers the opportunity to practice in a supportive urban teaching environment with a structured obstetrical call model and strong collegial support for both clinical and academic work.
Clinical responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive family medicine care within a rostered practice (900-1000 patients)
- Deliver full-scope FMOB care, including prenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care
- Participate in an obstetrical call model (in lieu of family medicine call)
- Supervise 1-3 family medicine residents in clinic and obstetrical settings
- Contribute to a collaborative, team-based approach to care for diverse urban populations

Qualifications
- Registered with the Canadian College of Family Physicians (CCFP)
- Eligibility for licensure in Ontario
- Experience in family medicine obstetrics
