WE REQUIRE A FLEXIBLE CANDIDATE WHO CAN WORK ANY DAY OF THE WEEK AND ANY SHIFT, INCLUDING MIDNIGHT SHIFTS (11PM TO 7AM), IF REQUIRED.

This position is a full-time position. The selected applicant will be covering a pregnancy and parental leave for one of our employees. The selected applicant will be working full-time for a period of approximately 63 weeks, at which time the position will transition to a permanent part-time position. It may remain a permanent full-time position as our staffing needs evolve, but that cannot be guaranteed.

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in an assisted living setting. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. The Direct Support Worker will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals requiring special care.

Duties

- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients.
- Monitor and report any changes in clients' health or behavior to the appropriate personnel.




- Assist with daily housekeeping duties to ensure a tidy space for clients.

Requirements -Valid and current First Aid / CPR certification required.

-Valid and current Vulnerable Sector Check required.

-Negative Tuberculosis skin test required.

-Valid and current Food Handler's Certificate or equivalent preferred.

-Current Covid-19 vaccination preferred.

- Previous experience in senior care, home care, or caregiving is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with assisted living facilities or nursing homes is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Compassionate attitude towards providing care for individuals with varying needs.
- Ability to perform cleaning tasks as part of maintaining a secure environment.
- Experience in meal preparation that accommodates dietary restrictions is a plus.
- Must be willing and able to work any day and any shift.
