About us
Hitspark is an independent Ontario studio that makes online role-playing games. Our flagship, Nin Online, is a 2D online RPG played worldwide. It has been a live service since 2017 and launched on Steam in 2025, and it is heading for full release in January 2027. We are also designing our next game, Demonbound. This is our first Ontario hire.
What you'll do
Own the balance of Nin Online's combat, classes and abilities, items and equipment, enemies and drop tables. Tune progression curves and the in-game economy (currency sources and sinks, crafting and rewards) so the game stays fair and rewarding for new and veteran players. Use player data, spreadsheets and simple simulations to find balance problems and test fixes before they ship.
Write clear design specs and patch notes, and work with our programmers and artists to put changes into the game. Read player feedback (Discord, Steam reviews and in-game reports) and run balance playtests.
