Neegan Burnside Ltd. is a majority Indigenous owned multi-discipline professional engineering and scientific consulting firm who works with Indigenous communities, Indigenous focused and Municipal clients to find solutions that work for them. We collaborate across many unceded territories, ancestral lands, homelands and Treaty lands. We work from Winnipeg, MB, Orangeville, ON and from the Canadian region known as Alberta.
We acknowledge the land that we work from in Winnipeg is located within Treaty 1 territory, traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, OjiCree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and the heartland of the Metis people. In Orangeville, we work from land situated within the headwaters of three rivers and is acknowledged to be on the traditional territory and ancestral lands of the Tionontati (Petun), Attawandoran (Neutral), Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe people. In Alberta, we acknowledge that we work within the traditional and ancestral territories of the signatory Nations to Treaties 6, 7, and 8: the Blackfoot Confederacy – Kainai, Piikani, and Siksika – the Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, Stoney Nakoda, and the Tsuu T’ina Nation.
We also acknowledge the Metis People of Alberta – the Metis Settlements and the Six Regions of the Metis Nation of Alberta within the historical Northwest Metis Homeland.

Our constantly evolving engineering team actively seeks out design solutions for water and wastewater treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection, solid waste management, road and site plan development work, and community facility design.
Our environmental team supports our engineering team where necessary with permitting and assessment activities, but also leads a wide variety of projects to suit client needs such as species at risk investigations, terrestrial and aquatic surveys, contaminated site remediation, and in a current addition to our services to meet our clients needs, we have recently added climate change resiliency and adaptation as a service area.
