About Oxbow Aquatic Services

Oxbow Aquatic Services builds, services, and restores ponds, lakes, and water features for residential, commercial, and public properties. Our work includes new installations, repairs, cleanouts, ongoing maintenance, water treatment, pumps and filtration systems, and related landscape work.

We are a small, hardworking team that takes pride in doing quality work and solving problems properly. Our work is hands-on, varied, and outdoors, often at beautiful properties and unique job sites. No two days are exactly the same.

The Role

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking General Labourer to join our team.

This is a varied position supporting both our Construction and Maintenance divisions. Depending on the day and the needs of the company, you may be helping build a current pond or water feature, assisting with repairs and renovations, or working as a floating helper with our Maintenance team servicing existing ponds and water features.

This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys physical work, likes being outdoors, takes pride in doing a job well, and is willing to learn new skills.

Previous pond experience is not required. We are happy to train the right person who brings a strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with pond and water feature construction, including excavation, liner installation, plumbing, rock placement, and finishing work
- Provide additional support to our Maintenance division as a floating helper, including pond cleanouts, routine servicing, seasonal maintenance, and other maintenance tasks as required
- Clean ponds and water features and remove debris, sediment, and organic material

- Assist with servicing, troubleshooting, and replacing pumps, filtration systems, plumbing, and related equipment
- Support the installation of landscape lighting, irrigation components, and related landscape features as needed
- Load, unload, organize, and transport tools, equipment, and materials
- Safely operate basic hand tools and power tools
- Help prepare job sites and keep work areas, vehicles, tools, and equipment clean and organized
- Follow company safety procedures and job-site standards
- Work cooperatively with different members of the Oxbow team as project and maintenance needs change
- Help complete work efficiently while maintaining our standards for workmanship and customer service

- Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Willing to get dirty and work in and around ponds, mud, water, rock, soil, and landscaping materials
- Able to follow instructions carefully and ask questions when something is unclear

- Able to work well as part of a team and independently when required
- Takes care of tools, equipment, vehicles, and customers' properties
- Previous construction, landscaping, maintenance, irrigation, plumbing, or similar hands-on experience is an asset, but not required

- Starting wage of $23.00/hour
- Extended health, dental, vision, and life insurance after successful completion of the 3-month probation period
- Mileage reimbursement when applicable
- Casual work environment

Who Will Do Well Here You don't need to know everything about ponds before you start.

We are looking for someone who shows up consistently, works hard, pays attention, takes care of equipment and job sites, and wants to learn. If you enjoy working with your hands, being outdoors, solving practical problems, and seeing the results of your work at the end of the day, we'd like to hear from you.
