Bilingual Graphic Designer and Digital Print Coordinator

Monte Cristo Productions is looking for a talented and versatile Bilingual Graphic Designer and Digital Print Coordinator to join our Ottawa team.

For more than 30 years, we have specialized in advertising, printing, and graphic design. We work with over 70 restaurants in the National Capital Region and surrounding communities, producing menus, placemats, takeout menus, wine lists, advertisements, and other printed materials.

This is a hands-on, on-site position combining graphic design, prepress, digital printing, and print-production coordination.

Responsibilities

- Design advertisements for restaurant menus, placemats, takeout menus, wine lists, and other printed products.
- Create, update, and redesign restaurant materials while maintaining each client's branding and visual identity.
- Prepare accurate, print-ready files, including proper dimensions, bleeds, margins, colour settings, and image resolution.
- Review client-supplied files and make corrections or adjustments when required.
- Communicate with clients and team members in both French and English.
- Proofread and verify layouts, pricing, text, images, and other details before production.
- Operate an in-house digital printer and produce high-quality printed materials.
- Coordinate print jobs from initial design through proofing, production, and completion.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
- Perform quality-control checks to ensure finished work meets client and production standards.
- Organize project files, templates, graphics, and production assets.

Qualifications
- Professional fluency in French and English,



both written and spoken.
- Experience in graphic design, print production, or a related position.
- Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
- Comfortable working on both iMac/macOS and Windows computers.
- Experience preparing files for commercial or digital printing.
- Experience operating a digital production printer is strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of print-production requirements, including CMYK colour, bleeds, crop marks, resolution, paper sizes, and file formats.
- Solid typography, layout, branding, and visual-design skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly when working with restaurant menus, prices, and bilingual content.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage several jobs at different stages of production.
- Reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
- Able to work 100% on-site in Ottawa.
