Paycot is hiring a Head of Legal.

The position offers three work options: remote, Riga, Latvia, or our Canadian office in Mississauga, Ontario.

Paycot helps business to accept crypto payments, manage payouts, and access on/off-ramp and OTC services through APIs, embedded widgets, hosted payment pages, and white-label solutions.

We're looking for a legal professional with fintech and crypto experience to lead our legal function.

The Head of Legal will advise management on regulatory and commercial matters, draft and negotiate contracts, support the legal work behind recent products and partnerships. The role will work closely with compliance and product teams on customer agreements, AML/KYC requirements, and data protection, while coordinating with external counsel when needed.

What we're looking for:

- Legal experience in fintech, payments, and crypto,



including advising management on regulatory requirements and legal risks.
- Knowledge of MiCA and the authorization and ongoing requirements for crypto-asset service providers (CASPs).
- Understanding of Canadian Money Services Business (MSB) regulation, including FINTRAC requirements.
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, customer agreements, and internal policies.
- Ability to manage legal projects and translate regulatory requirements into clear guidance for business and product teams.
- Strong written and spoken English for legal drafting, negotiations, and professional communication.
