Home Care Health Care Aides provide service to clients in the lodges & their homes in Grande Prairie & surrounding area. This position is currently assigned to community but could be subject to change as required. You must be a certified Health Care Aide and be registered with the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.
Experience in seniors’ health is an asset. Candidate must be willing to change assignment as needed to service facility and community clients. You must be willing to work alone and/or with limited supervision.
You must be willing to work days/ evenings/nights/weekends/stats and both short and long shifts. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team, providing personal assistance by supporting activities of daily living and delivering support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. In this role, you will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers across the continuum of care in home, community, and health care facilities.
You will assist nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs; and observe and report on patients' mood, health, and wellbeing.
Working under the supervision of a regulated health professional, you will assist in maintaining a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors, while supporting effective communication with patients and health care professionals.Until a new hire provides proof of HCA certification, they will be paid at the uncertified pay grade in accordance with the AUPE AUX Collective Agreement.

At least 1 year of experience dealing with all entire age spectrum including seniors.
Palliative
