As a successful HCA, you will work as a team as well as working individually in a self-motivated environment that is always changing. Adhering to the provided care plan that has been established in collaboration with the client, family and members of the interdisciplinary team will support you in your everchanging environment. You will perform health care duties as authorized on the client’s care plan, including but not limited to easy dressings, medication assistance, catheter care, ostomy care and exercises for range of movement and strengthening.Being able to provide friendly and sincere emotional support by being a good listener and interacting in a positive and optimistic manner is critical to ensuring patient centered care as an HCA.

As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team, providing personal assistance by supporting activities of daily living and delivering support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. In this role, you will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers across the continuum of care in home, community, and health care facilities. You will assist nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs; and observe and report on patients' mood, health, and wellbeing.

Working under the supervision of a regulated health professional, you will assist in maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors,



while supporting effective communication with patients and health care professionals.Until a new hire provides proof of HCA certification, they will be paid at the uncertified pay grade in accordance with the AUPE AUX Collective Agreement.

Additional Required Qualifications: Availability to work evenings and weekends is a requirement for this position.Valid driver’s license for work-related travel.Experience in caring for the elder population or chronically ill clients in the community setting.Experience using Microsoft Office and Skype for Business. A satisfactory criminal record check and/or Vulnerable Sector Search is required prior to your first day of work. Communities.
