This non-pensionable allowance is paid on an hourly basis for all hours worked at the basic rate of pay.Known as the Gateway to the Peace, it offers convenient highway access, local amenities, and proximity to both forests and farmland.As an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP), you will assess emergency scenes and patients and may transport ill or injured individuals from emergency scenes and between facilities.
You will provide patient care by administering medications, using advanced life support (ALS) airway adjuncts, and delivering electrical therapy. You may also lead the ALS team in providing clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes.You will support the readiness of vehicles by ensuring ambulances and other transport units, including non-emergent transport (NET) vehicles, are properly stocked, maintained, and equipped in accordance with established standards.The working environment for an ACP is demanding and includes exposure to heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, moving traffic, and industrial and agricultural equipment. Shifts per cycle: 28 Days Off: As Per Rotation Emergency Health Services Classification: Advanced Care Paramedic (2190) Union: HSAA Facility PROF/TECH Unit and Program: Emergency Health Services Multi-Site: Not Applicable Employee Class: Regular Full Time Hours per Shift: 12 Length of Shift in weeks: Shifts per cycle: 28 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends, On Call Days Off: As Per Rotation Required Qualifications: Non-restricted registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACOP) as an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP).test, verified by a certificate provided by the Lifemark organization, is required for applicants who do not already hold a clinical position within EHS (VESST, Clinical Educator, EMR, PCP, ACP, or Community Paramedic).E. test must be completed no more than six (6) months prior to the date of the job offer.Preferred Qualifications: Preference is given to those with previous EMS experience in a metro, suburban, rural, or interfacility setting and in other areas of Health Care and Public Safety.
Completion of additional post-secondary programs is considered an asset. Applicants should provide any post-secondary education or training at the time of application for it to be considered during the selection process. A satisfactory criminal record check and/or Vulnerable Sector Search is required prior to your first day of work.
