As an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP), you will assess emergency scenes and patients and may transport ill or injured individuals from emergency scenes and between facilities. You will provide patient care by administering medications, using advanced life support (ALS) airway adjuncts, and delivering electrical therapy. You may also lead the ALS team in providing clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes.

You will support the readiness of vehicles by ensuring ambulances and other transport units, including non-emergent transport (NET) vehicles, are properly stocked, maintained, and equipped in accordance with established standards. The working workplace for an ACP is demanding and includes exposure to heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, moving traffic, and industrial and agricultural equipment. You will be required to travel in all weather conditions and to remote locations (e.g., Emergency Health Services Classification: Advanced Care Paramedic (2190) Union: HSAA Facility PROF/TECH Unit and Program: Emergency Medical Services Metro Multi-Site: Not Applicable Temporary Employee Class: Temp F/T Benefits Temporary End Date:



01-OCT-2027 Hours per Shift: 12 Length of Shift in weeks: Shifts per cycle: 28 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends Days Off: As Per Rotation Non-restricted registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACOP) as an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP). test, verified by a certificate provided by the Lifemark organization, is required for applicants who do not already hold a clinical position within EHS (VESST, Clinical Educator, EMR, PCP, ACP, or Community Paramedic).

E. test must be completed no more than six (6) months prior to the date of the job offer. Preference is given to those with previous EMS experience in a metro, suburban, rural, or interfacility environment and in other areas of Health Care and Public Safety. Completion of additional post-secondary programs is considered an asset.
